These are my favorite photos ever. And I mean EVER. I can barely look at them without sobbing. I feel like God has given me my very own “sneak peek” – straight into the year 2020 when Jack is 16 and driving away in my car. Thankfully, we are just starting kindergarten, but I am all too aware of how quickly 2020 is going get here!
Yesterday was an abbreviated day at Jack’s school. The kids got to come in, snoop around the classroom and play on the playground while the parents attended an informational meeting and commiserated with each other about our babies growing up. After we were done, Phillip and I took Jack to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch and games. A master at bribery, I also offered to take Jack for ice cream if he would agree to a quick photo shoot. He agreed, so we headed down to my favorite location in Franklin. OH MY. It was so worth that Oreo Blast!!
You will notice that Jack is pouting in many of the photos. This is his serious model face. His own version of the Blue Steel. He wasn’t crying, or about to throw a tantrum. Don’t get me wrong, he was ready to be done before we started, but he was trying his best to give me “that face”. Phillip told him he was smoldering. As in, “Show Mom your big eyes, Jack! Smolder, son, SMOLDER!”. We had a hilariously wonderful time.
If you are interested in booking an urban session like this for your child or family, please contact me soon. I book a limited number of sessions a month, and fall sessions are going fast!

*edited to add: I also created a video using these images and a few others from the session. I had to break out more Kleenex. You just might, too:
