the harrell family: a sneak peek

Oh, Polly! It’s time for your sneaky peeky!

I know I sound like a broken record every time I post , but I was truly delighted when Polly messaged me about photographing her precious family. See, Polly was a bridesmaid in my wedding eleven years ago. She and I lived together in college for a very fun summer and it was then that I learned that Polly is every bit as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside! Polly and Chris met in college, too, and now live out of state and have two adorable boys, Jake and Isaac. The day we met to shoot was the first time I had met the boys in person even though I feel like I’ve watched them grow up thanks to Facebook and blogging! 

We had so much fun the day we met up. Polly and Chris were real troopers  and didn’t laugh too hard at me when I busted out my crazy idea for a fun photograph – Thought Bubbles! I really appreciated their restraint, since I had stayed up late the night before carefully drawing and cutting out each bubble. I must admit, though, the Thought Bubble idea was not my own. I had seen a version of it done on this website. Katie is an artist in New York and is so, so, so inspiring to me. When I saw her incredibly creative idea, I just knew I had to use it for the Harrells!! (Katie, I don’t know you – but THANK YOU for being so fun and inspiring!) 

Polly, Chris, Jake & Isaac – I had a blast with you. You are such a beautiful family and it was an honor to photograph you and capture your love for each other! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek and I will be in touch very soon about getting you your disc. I love you guys!
